I’m Loved

I’m Loved – December 27, 2018

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5

Of all of God’s creations – mountains are some of my favourites. Whenever I get a glimpse of a mountain I’m always filled with a sense of awe about God’s amazing creative powers. However, recently I’ve started to be awed about another of God’s creations – People!  As I journey to and from work each day I encounter a lot of people. There are whites, blacks, East Indians, Natives, Chinese (Asians) and the list goes on. Yet it’s not their nationality or ethnic backgrounds or even their languages that I marvel about. What I marvel at are the different faces God chose to put on each one of us. No two faces are exactly alike and each time I see a new face I can’t help but wonder about the God who created each one. I imagine how happy He is as he decides which nose to put on this or that one, the texture hair, the colour of the eyes, the shape of the lips, the size of the ears.

I think about His creative powers and it dawned on me that with Him taking so much time on the details He must love the outcome.

I know that when I, with my limited, sin-stained creativity, create something I’m rather fond of the outcome and proud of it too.

So, I believe that my God loves and is very proud of me and you. Yes – I do feel loved

Gratitude

Gratitude – December 26, 2018

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:36

I am not a morning person, yet there’s nothing like the start of a new day for me.  As I open my eyes and my mind returns to conscious thoughtfulness, I’m overcome with the thought that I am, one more time, the recipient of God’s amazing Grace.

Each day as I open my eyes, I realize just how blessed I am.  In my mind, I reflect on the facts:  that I’m able to open my eyes and see the light of day, that my ears work – I can hear the sounds of the morning, that my legs work – they can support me as I arise from my bed; that my mind works – I can think, I can dream, I can plan, I can pray, I can even worry – if that’s what I chose to do.  These and so many other things run through my mind and I am filled with such a great sense of gratitude.

I then reflect on the One who made all these things, and more, possible. I start to think of and thank the Almighty, Jehovah Jireh – my Provider, of all good things. I thank Him for His goodness and love, for His mercy towards me. I thank Him for being patient with me when I complain, when I worry –instead of pray.

I thank Him for giving and giving and giving. I thank Him for not treating me as I deserve but instead being incredibly kind, forbearing. I thank Him for forgiving me and giving me yet another opportunity to come to Him in sweet surrender.

Welcome

Welcome to Wentors.  Are you a newly wed?  In a relationship that has been struggling? Maybe you are in an inter-cultural relationship. Wentors was created just for you.  Here you will find a community of women from all over the world who have been on this wonderful journey called wife-hood and who have graciously signed up with the sole intention of sharing resources, tips, tricks or just be there for you when the going gets tough and you need a sympathetic, neutral party.

Many women have best friends, so you may be wondering why wouldn’t the suggestion be to just go them.  We have found that many women are sometimes afraid to share their struggles with people they know.  The number one reason: many fear being judged.

At Wentors, you can be paired with someone just around the corner or across the world.  We have women from various nationalities and are inviting more to join us so that we will be able to provide support to women despite their nationality or cultural.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  We hope you will have an enriching experience.

Love,

The Wentors Team
